Bartender Jo-Jo Valenzuela and his wife Christina partnered up with restauranteurs Manny Tagle and Solita Wakefield to open a new Filipino restaurant near Ballston with cocktails as the main attraction. Their drinks and cocktails are influenced by Filipino flavor, with their gin rickey made with guava, lemongrass, calamansi limes, and chilies. The food menu is a collaboration between Valenzuela, Tagle and a handful of Filipino cooks with Filipino dishes such as sisig, a platter of chopped grilled pork ears and pork belly with a creamy liver aioli on top. Their menu also highlights the sweet soy-glazed chicken barbecue with pickled papaya and the bihon pansit, a stir-fried rice noodle dish.
