Time For A Refresh - Proof has just announced that George Rodrigues will be their new executive chef. Chef Rodrigues started his culinary journey in Brasil, learning to love food while cooking with his family. He began working for Iron Chef Jose Garces at Mercat a la Planxa and quickly became Sous Chef. He was chef de cuisine at Tico in Boston and then opened Tico in D.C. as executive chef. Fresh For The New Year – Café Saint-Ex is pleased to announce the arrival of chef Joel Hatton. He joined the team just before the new year, most recently he headed up the kitchen at 1905 Bar Restaurant & Bar, prior to that he was the opening chef at Shaw’s Tavern and long-time executive chef at Leopold’s Kafe. He is a native of North Carolina, his menus have a Southern flair with all the flavors of home. With chef Hatton in the house, they have revamped their dinner and menu with items such as Two-Way Pork (crispy shoulder, pastrami-spiced belly, grits and greens, sorghum mustard), and Cauliflower Steak (heirloom grains, maple sherry, pickled sour cherries).
