Cherry Blossom Pop-up Bar At Mockingbird Hill And Southern Efficiency

Drink Company returns this Spring with the Cherry Blossom PUB (Pop-up Bar), where James Beard Award-nominated Mockingbird Hill and Southern Efficiency will take on Japan with a cherry blossom-inspired transformation. The two bars will roll out new decor and exclusive menus, inspired by Washington, D.C.’s most beautiful season. Draped in pink, Southern Efficiency will feature an origami crane chandelier and an impressive collection of maneki-neko, Japan’s world-famous lucky “waving cats” against a beautiful backdrop of cherry blossom art by iconic D.C. artist Maggie O’Neill. At Mockingbird Hill, nostalgia will reign supreme with an ode to the beloved Super Mario Bros., featuring an entire room dedicated to the Mushroom Kingdom and a special corner reserved for super villain King Koopa. Mockingbird Hill and Souther Efficiency will be open March 1 through April 15, 5:00 pm to 12:30 am Sunday through Thursday and 5:00 pm to 1:30 am Friday and Saturday. Jack Rose Dining Saloon & Delilah’s Chicago Debut Collaborative Kilchoman Single Barrel Whisky

Two of the country’s best whiskey bars – Jack Rose Dining Saloon in Washington, DC and Delilah’s in Chicago – are thrilled to soon debut their first single barrel whisky in an ongoing series of barrel collaborations. Distilled at Kilchoman, on Scotland’s Islay region, this peaty cask-strength single malt was aged in a Sauternes cask from the famed Chateau d’Yquem. Jack Rose will unveil the limited-run whisky with a rooftop launch party in the bar’s upstairs Balcony Room. The Jack Rose/Delilah’s Kilchoman cask will be specially priced at $6/oz. for the evening (regularly $14/oz.), as will other special Kilchoman releases such as Machir Bay, Sanaig, Loch Gorm, 100% Islay 6th Edition and more. Streets Of Osaka

Celebrating street culture from their native Japan, “Streets of Osaka” is a chef collaboration between Zentan’s Executive Chef Yo Matsuzaki and Executive Chef Nobu Yamazaki of Michelin-starred Sushi Taro. The full restaurant space will be transformed into a lively, Osakan street festival complete with food stalls, shochu and sake tastings, sushi, sumo watching, art pieces, live music and chef interaction. From 6:30-9:00 pm, general admission ticket holders can enjoy live entertainment, new Zentan cocktails, and enough food to train as a sumo wrestler. From 5:00-6:30 pm, VIP ticket holders have an added opportunity to learn Japanese cooking from the masters themselves. Chef Matsuzaki, Chef Yamazaki, and Zentan Sushi Chef Lin ZhenQun will be teaching hands-on street food and sushi classes prior to the main event.
