Heart’s Delight is widely recognized as a premier destination event where master winemakers, culinary greats and our distinguished guests gather to play and bid in the Nation’s Capital. This distinctive event is a four-day celebration of exceptional wine and food with unique touches woven throughout. Wednesday, May 10th is the Congress Has Heart celebration showcasing some of the best in American wine. Highlighted wines will be presented by owners and winemakers and will include a live auction. This will be followed by the highly sought after BYO Collectors Dinner. Thursday, May 11th is the Embassy & Winemaker Dinner Series. These intimate experiences feature dinners at the official residences of Ambassadors, personally hosted dinner parties at the homes of area wine enthusiasts and vintner-led dining experiences at some of Washington, DC’s most notable restaurants. Friday, May 12th is the Vintners Dinner & Auction. This is Washington, DC’s most exclusive fine dining and wine event of the year. The evening will highlight the wines of Château Mouton Rothschild presented by Philippe Sereys de Rothschild and Philippe Dhalluin. The dinner is followed by a live auction led by Sotheby’s Jamie Ritchie featuring wine directly from the cellars of our friends from Bordeaux in grand format. Saturday, May 13th is the Bordeaux Master Class & Grand Tasting. It is a festive celebration of the epicurean lifestyle. “A Salute To Papa’s Alsace” Wine Dinner At L’Auberge Chez Francois

“Dupont Live” At Bar Dupont

Starting this week Bar Dupont will be hosting  “Dupont Live,” showcasing local artists from across the region and ringing in summer with a special new patio menu that includes innovative cocktails and a dozen different rosés. Each Thursday at Dupont Live, a different surprise musical act from the D.C. metro area will hit the stage for a set from 6:30 to 9:30 pm, as the summer concert series returns for another year. And, rather than revealing a calendar of musicians ahead of time, the Dupont Live lineup will be all about the element of surprise with a new unannounced act performing each week. While the music plays, the drinks will flow from Bar Dupont’s new summer patio menu, which includes creatively refreshing cocktails such as the “Evening Shade,” made with Absolut Elyx Vodka, Villa Sandi Prosecco, house lemon jam, fresh lemon juice and edible gold glitter and the “Green Variety Margarita,” which features El Jimador Tequila, house cardamom syrup, fresh grapefruit juice and fresh lime juice, as well as a rotating mix of local and national beers like Dogfish Head, a Dupont Live series partner. The new patio menu’s extensive rosé collection curated from around the world is perfect for pairing with briney bites from local Rappahannock Oyster Company. Rosé lovers can choose from 12 different selections on the special menu, from a glass of Charles de Fere from France to a bottle of Pratsch Niederösterreich from Austria. The Irish-owned Bar Dupont prides itself on its global footprint and connection, but will also partner with local breweries and distilleries throughout the summer for unique collaborations. 11 Weeks And Counting Until The RAMMY Awards

At the upcoming 2017 RAMMY Awards on July 30, Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) will honor and award the exceptional ability and accomplishments of the hard-working individuals and organizations of the region’s restaurants and foodservice community. Finalist selection involves two esteemed groups, the voting public and an anonymous panel of volunteer judges, consisting of food and dining journalists, educators and foodservice industry professionals. The voting public will decide the winners in four categories. The finalists for “Favorite Gathering Place of the Year” are Brookland’s Finest Bar & Kitchen, The Front Porch at Evening Star Cafe, Lauriol Plaza, Pearl Dive Oyster Palace, and Petworth Citizen & Reading Room. For “Upscale Brunch of the Year”, finalists include Convivial, Del Campo, Marcel’s by Robert Wiedmaier, The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm, and The Source by Wolfgang Puck. For “Casual Brunch of the Year”, look out for Cava Mezze- Capitol Hill, DGS Delicatessen, Maketto, Republic, and Sixth Engine. Lastly, for Favorite Fast Bites of the Year, the finalists are Beefsteak, Cava Grill, Chase the Submarine, G by Mike Isabella, and Taco Bamba Taqueria.
