Cheese Of The Month Party At Via Umbria

Wed, Jul 05

July brings not one, but two delicious selections to the table at Via Umbria’s Cheese of the Month Party. Hailing from the beautiful and historic city of Bergamo, Italy, the Casatica de Bufala cheese reveals the creamy yet delicate richness that is possible with the use of water buffalo milk. Encased by a natural bloomy rind, this stracchino-style, soft-ripened cheese is the epitome of subtle sweetness and melt-in-your-mouth qualities. Bringing it back to the midwest, the Prairie Breeze Cheddar from Southeast Iowa packs a lot of flavor. The well-aged cheese has a nutty finish that will keep you reaching for one more taste. With its ability to pair nicely with sweet and savory dishes, this unique cheddar hybrid might surprise you. Come learn more from the experts about the best ways to enjoy these two beautiful selections. $25 per person. 7:30 p.m. 1525 Wisconsin Avenue NW.
