Game Of Thrones Pop-Up Bar

Wed, Jun 21 - Sun, Aug 27

The most anticipated pop-up of the summer is coming. Drink Company and Ommegang Brewery presents the Game of Thrones Pop-Up Bar (PUB), in the spaces formerly known as Mockingbird Hill, Southern Efficiency, and Eat the Rich. At the Game of Thrones PUB, you will visit scenes from the North, the Red Keep, Mereen, the House of Black and White, and the Throne Room. Cocktails such as What is Dead May Never Die and The Lannisters Send their Regards will be paired with the show’s soundtrack. Just not during the show itself when the bar will be closed. Ommegang Brewery’s Bend the Knee, the official Game of Thrones beer, will be on draft. Monday – Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Friday – Saturday, 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. 1839-1843 7th Street NW. Canteen, NRG’s Seasonal Pop Up Beer Garden

Thu, Jul 06 - Sun, Jul 09

This summer, be sure to visit Canteen, NRG’s seasonal pop up beer garden. The roving beer garden will plant roots at its new location with 20 beer drafts (twice as many as last year) as well as two additional handles dedicated to ciders, a selection of summer sipping wines (white and rosé, naturally), and the infamous bourbon slushy will return. You can expect the very best craft beers sourced locally, nationally, and from overseas. They will be pouring classic German-style lagers, like Mahrs Bräu Kellerbier Ungespundet Hefetrüb; bone-dry Belgian ales, including De Ranke Simplex and De la Senne Taras Boulba; outstanding local hop-driven offerings, The Veil’s Sitdwn and BHUMBL among them, not to mention a fresh, rare keg of Double Dry-Hopped Sungazer, from Charles Towne Fermentory in South Carolina; and some delicious sours, like Grimm Cube: Cuvee #4, J.Wakefield Stush, and Upland Cursed Kettles. Red Apron will once again curate a few food items, in addition to local food trucks visiting all summer long. Plus, given the amazing offerings by their new neighbors, they’re encouraging Canteen guests to bring in outside food from spots like Kyrisan, Glenn’s Garden Market, and Haikan. Opens 4:00 p.m. Thursdays & Fridays. Opens 12:00 p.m. Saturdays & Sundays. 1923 9th Street NW.

Equinox 18th Anniversary “Golf” Game

Thu, Jul 06

It’s throwback time at Equinox Restaurant as it gets ready to celebrate 18 years as one of Washington’s beloved restaurants. To inspire guests to try the most iconic dishes from the restaurant’s nearly two decades in business, Equinox is kicking off a fun and interactive 18 “hole” golf game. Each dish corresponds to a “hole” on the “green” and when guests complete all 18 holes they receive a golf-related prize. The dishes featured in the game highlight Chef Gray’s passion for sustainable seafood, Mid-Atlantic cuisine, and innovative interpretations of classic American fare. This is a nod to two of Chef Gray’s passions and a chance for guests to have a bit of fun while dining on dishes cultivated and refined over many years. A sample of the dishes included in this three month promotion include 1999’s truffled macaroni & cheese, 2003’s pan fried soft shell crab with pickled spring onions, and 2006’s risotto of spring sweet peas, carrot brunoise, pea green salad, and red wine sauce. There will also be a “fairway” lunch special, which includes a “putter” and a “chipper” course for $18. When the game wraps up in August, participants are invited to join Equinox for its golf-themed wrap party on the patio featuring a classic 1980’s golf movie. 818 Connecticut Avenue NW.
