Game Of Thrones Pop-Up Bar

The most anticipated pop-up of the summer is coming. Drink Company and Ommegang Brewery presents the Game of Thrones Pop-Up Bar (PUB), in the spaces formerly known as Mockingbird Hill, Southern Efficiency, and Eat the Rich. At the Game of Thrones PUB, you will visit scenes from the North, the Red Keep, Mereen, the House of Black and White, and the Throne Room. Cocktails such as What is Dead May Never Die and The Lannisters Send their Regards will be paired with the show’s soundtrack. Swords, dragons, horns, and an Iron Throne help celebrate the show’s summer return. The Red Keep features the Armory, where you can pledge allegiance to your house banners, and take a picture as the flayed man on a custom piece built by The Strong Oaks Woodshop. Canteen, NRG’s Seasonal Pop Up Beer Garden

This summer, be sure to visit Canteen, NRG’s seasonal pop up beer garden. The roving beer garden will plant roots at its new location with 20 beer drafts (twice as many as last year) as well as two additional handles dedicated to ciders, a selection of summer sipping wines (white and rosé, naturally), and the infamous bourbon slushy will return. You can expect the very best craft beers sourced locally, nationally, and from overseas. They will be pouring classic German-style lagers, like Mahrs Bräu Kellerbier Ungespundet Hefetrüb; bone-dry Belgian ales, including De Ranke Simplex and De la Senne Taras Boulba; outstanding local hop-driven offerings, The Veil’s Sitdwn and BHUMBL among them, not to mention a fresh, rare keg of Double Dry-Hopped Sungazer, from Charles Towne Fermentory in South Carolina; and some delicious sours, like Grimm Cube: Cuvee #4, J.Wakefield Stush, and Upland Cursed Kettles. Red Apron will once again curate a few food items, in addition to local food trucks visiting all summer long. Plus, given the amazing offerings by their new neighbors, they’re encouraging Canteen guests to bring in outside food from spots like Kyrisan, Glenn’s Garden Market, and Haikan. Hill Country’s Backyard Barbecue Returns To National Building Museum

Hill Country Barbecue Market is excited to revive the Backyard Barbecue, a summer pop-up at the National Building Museum. After a brief hiatus last summer, the Backyard Barbecue returns to the West Lawn for the third summer season, making it the place to chow down on authentic central Texas-style barbecue, imbibe and enjoy live music. 4th Annual Old Town Bar Crawl

The 4th Annual Port City Old Town Pub Crawl is coming soon. No registration, tickets, or purchase is necessary to participate. So come join the fun. Show up at any participating venue between 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. to receive your Pub Crawl Passes. It will be an open-house-type crawl, meaning you can visit participating bars and restaurants in any order; find the Port City team at each location to get your pass stamped. The reward for visiting all of the stops will be a limited-edition pint glass, while supplies last. Alexandria/USA Birthday Celebration

The City of Alexandria will celebrate its 268th and the USA’s 241st birthday at Oronoco Bay Park and is inviting you to join the fun. The event will kick off with a performance by the Ocho de Bastos Band featuring Latin Pop, an energetic fusion of tropical rhythms with pop rock. Next to perform will be the U. S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, which has inspired audiences throughout the nation and abroad for more than 50 years in a proud tradition that began with the musicians of the Continental Army. The main event will feature the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra with Guest Conductor Jon Kalbfleisch, presenting a night of fun and fanfare that begins with the Continental Color Guard Presentation of the Colors and ends with the “1812 Overture,” cannon and fireworks. Lake Anne Roots Music Festival

The Lake Anne Roots Music Festival will feature a variety of modern roots music performers.  The festival will offer a full day of folk, bluegrass, blues, old time, and everything in between, paired with a pop-up beer and wine garden.
