Game Of Thrones Pop-Up Bar

The most anticipated pop-up of the summer is coming. Drink Company and Ommegang Brewery presents the Game of Thrones Pop-Up Bar (PUB), in the spaces formerly known as Mockingbird Hill, Southern Efficiency, and Eat the Rich. At the Game of Thrones PUB, you will visit scenes from the North, the Red Keep, Mereen, the House of Black and White, and the Throne Room. Cocktails such as What is Dead May Never Die and The Lannisters Send their Regards will be paired with the show’s soundtrack. Swords, dragons, horns, and an Iron Throne help celebrate the show’s summer return. The Red Keep features the Armory, where you can pledge allegiance to your house banners, and take a picture as the flayed man on a custom piece built by The Strong Oaks Woodshop. The Bethesda Urban Partnership will present the eleventh annual Bethesda Outdoor Movies: Stars on the Avenue. Five evenings of major motion pictures in a variety of genres will be showcased, including new releases, action, drama and comedy films.  Movies include: The Wizard of Oz, Field of Dreams, Dead Poet’s Society, Hidden Figures, and La La Land. Residents, employees and visitors are encouraged to arrive early and bring their own lawn chairs. A limited number of chairs will also be provided. Canteen, NRG’s Seasonal Pop Up Beer Garden

This summer, be sure to visit Canteen, NRG’s seasonal pop up beer garden. The roving beer garden will plant roots at its new location with 20 beer drafts (twice as many as last year) as well as two additional handles dedicated to ciders, a selection of summer sipping wines (white and rosé, naturally), and the infamous bourbon slushy will return. You can expect the very best craft beers sourced locally, nationally, and from overseas. They will be pouring classic German-style lagers, like Mahrs Bräu Kellerbier Ungespundet Hefetrüb; bone-dry Belgian ales, including De Ranke Simplex and De la Senne Taras Boulba; outstanding local hop-driven offerings, The Veil’s Sitdwn and BHUMBL among them, not to mention a fresh, rare keg of Double Dry-Hopped Sungazer, from Charles Towne Fermentory in South Carolina; and some delicious sours, like Grimm Cube: Cuvee #4, J.Wakefield Stush, and Upland Cursed Kettles. Red Apron will once again curate a few food items, in addition to local food trucks visiting all summer long. Inaugural Splendor Festival At Franklin Square

Meant 2 Live Foundation and IMPACT Collective have partnered to host their Inaugural Splendor Festival at Franklin Square. This free event will provide a unique experience consisting of live music, inspirational speeches, and aid to the local homeless community. Through an effort to give back, homeless attendees are provided transportation to and from shelters to the event. These special VIP guests will be greeted with free haircuts, warm catered meals, ice cold beverages, and a game truck for their amusement. Blessing bags containing toiletries, healthy snacks, and other necessities will be gifted. A mobile health clinic will offer medical screenings for all guests. The Department of Employment will be available at the event for training sessions, focusing on job readiness and occupational skills. The Department of Human Services will be aiding attendees with housing support and services. Entertainment for the festival will feature inspirational guest speaker, Pastor Marcus Gill and live music ranging from Contemporary, Gospel, Rap, to the Top 40. Performing during the festival will be Special Occasions, Nehemiah, Tamika Moore, Tony M Band, and Jason Saitta. With their partnership, IMPACT Collective and Meant 2 Live Foundation created Splendor to serve homeless families, at-risk youth, prisoners, and those facing addiction. As a revival mission of utilizing the universal power of music, they give those impoverished a VIP experience. The Charmery Turns Four
