Game Of Thrones Pop-Up Bar

The most anticipated pop-up of the summer is coming. Drink Company and Ommegang Brewery presents the Game of Thrones Pop-Up Bar (PUB), in the spaces formerly known as Mockingbird Hill, Southern Efficiency, and Eat the Rich. At the Game of Thrones PUB, you will visit scenes from the North, the Red Keep, Mereen, the House of Black and White, and the Throne Room. Cocktails such as What is Dead May Never Die and The Lannisters Send their Regards will be paired with the show’s soundtrack. Swords, dragons, horns, and an Iron Throne help celebrate the show’s summer return. The Red Keep features the Armory, where you can pledge allegiance to your house banners, and take a picture as the flayed man on a custom piece built by The Strong Oaks Woodshop. DC Burger Week

Burger lovers rejoice. Washington City Paper’s annual DC Burger Week (#DCBurgerWeek) returns to the DMV. Participating restaurants throughout the region will be offering a special a la carte burger. Popular spots, including Stoney’s, The Sovereign, Bourbon, Cantina Marina, Hawthorne, and Tedici Enoteca, are just a few of the restaurants that will be offering drool-inducing sandwiches that will surely get the attention of your taste buds. All DC Burger Week burgers will be served à la carte, and will be available for dine in patrons only. While any additional items, such as a side of fries or a drink, are not a requirement, organizers recommend splurging a little to make the dining experience that much more memorable. During the week, the Washington City Paper will be running a social media contest on the paper’s Facebook, Twitter & Instagram feeds for best burger pictures.
