From farmers’ markets to farm-based breweries and distilleries to grass-fed beef, the region has something for everyone, and Renee Brooks Catacalos shows how easy and rewarding it is to take advantage of this natural abundance. Claudia Kousoulas and Ellen Letourneau present more than one-hundred recipes grounded in local traditions and seasonal rhythms in Bread and Beauty, inspired by Montgomery County’s 93,000-acre Agricultural Reserve, a nationally recognized model of sustainable land use that combines farmland, open-space, animal sanctuaries, and educational and recreational activities.
