Mess Hall
703 Edgewood St NE

The first-of-its-kind urban maple syrup festival, Wildwood, brings a time-honored backcountry tradition to Mess Hall. Syrup makers, Laurel Fork Sapsuckers, from Hightown, Virginia, will make maple syrup over a wood fire, while teaching people about the process and the culture surrounding sugaring, and acclaimed chainsaw artist Jason Stoner of Chain Effect will be carving wood sculptures. You will also be treated to boozy maple snow cones and cocktails featuring Harleston Green Scotch Whisky, and Pabst Blue Ribbon. Drinks will be complemented by a poutine station, Federalist Pig’s signature smoky pulled pork sliders, and maple glazed brisket tacos and plantains drizzled with maple crema by Mess Hall members Qui Qui Catering. For dessert, Fluffness will be making hand spun cotton candy sweetened with real maple sugar. Tickets are $75. The event is from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. and from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. To purchase a ticket, click here.
