Movie And A Meal At Via Umbria: Mid-August Lunch
Tue, Aug 15
Part of Via Umbria’s mission is to transport Italian culture straight to Georgetown. One of their favorite ways to experience the true Italian lifestyle is through film. So they invite you to pull up a seat in the cafe and join them for the next installment in their Movie and a Meal series. August 15th is the Italian holiday Ferragosto; with both Roman and Catholic roots, this holiday kicks off the summer vacation season across the country. While many are escaping the heat by heading to the cooler parts of Italy, come escape the heat in the cafe for dinner and the screening of Mid-August Lunch (2008). The story, taking place during this very festival, centers on Gianni a middle-aged man living in Rome with his elderly mother. As the city clears out for the holiday, a new opportuinity knocks on Gianni’s door in the most interesting way. $25 per person. 7:30 p.m. 1525 Wisconsin Avenue NW.
