The well-loved basement bar at Café Saint-Ex is cranking up the soul for its new series of monthly soul food and DJ music nights, “Pass the Peas.” Named after the popular hit song from James Brown’s band, The JB’s, “Pass the Peas” is a special night of old-school soul food dishes paired with live DJ tunes from Soul Call Paul, hosted in Saint-Ex’s Gate 54 lounge. Guests can expect to find dishes like Country Fried Steak with country gravy, Pork Chops with candied yams, and Cornmeal-crusted Catfish and fresh Cornbread served in a cast iron skillet. 7:00 p.m.- close. 1847 14th Street, NW.
