This week on Foodie & The Beast, we had a great variety of guests on the show. Chantal Tseng poured us unique cocktails from her literary cocktail series featured every weekend in the Reading Room of Petworth Citizen. Each cocktail is special as it is inspired from different works of literature. Maria Booker from Capital Area Food Bank gave us the 411 on Restaurant week. Almost 40 restaurants have elected to donate a portion of their Restaurant Week proceeds to Capital Area Food Bank in support of the non-profit’s mission to solve hunger and its companion problems of chronic undernutrition, heart disease, and obesity. Clyde Davis and John Peterson came in to discuss what to expect at this year’s Rum Day, a week-long event providing education on the history and nuances of Rum. Executive Chef Sasha Felikson talked all things Doi Moi including their upcoming 4th birthday, new menu items, and Bird’s Eye Sandwiches, a new lunchtime pop-up. Bryer and Kaitlin Davis gave us the not-so-secret inside scope on Dinner en Blanc’s annual gathering which takes place in a secret location. To listen to the whole show, please click here.
