This week on Foodie & The Beast, Greg Algie, Ian Fletcher and Will Fung of Tiger Fork, came in to give us more insight on their restaurant that brings inspiration from Hong Kong to America. They poured a variety of concoctions from their crazy good cocktail menu based on traditional Chinese medicine. Monica Gomez of Cera Wax studio, came in to give a demonstration of the seemingly painless waxing process on our very own Sam! Bluejacket executive chef, Marcelle Afram stopped by to tell us more on the unique game day outdoor grilling and special grilling techniques. She brought in copious amounts of deliciousness that included a shrimp boil and falafel burgers. We heard all about Rickey Month from Dan Searing and how DC bars and bartenders are paying homage to our native cocktail, the Rickey. We also learned about the upcoming Rickey competition which challenges its bartenders to reimagine the District’s native cocktail in creative ways. Last, but certainly not least, Kathy Hollinger gave us the 411 on the upcoming RAMMY Gala and discussed all the important details of the exciting event.
