We had a spectacular show this week on Foodie and the Beast. We started out chatting with Republic’s beverage director and beer “nerd” Brett Robison, who oversees the Takoma Park restaurant’s seasonally driven beer program. We got to sample some great new craft brews that can now be found at Black Restaurant Group’s Republic. Dave Moran of Clyde’s Restaurant Group an Ashok Bajaj, founder and CEO of Knights Bridge Restaurant Group, came in to discuss Ashok’s recognition as the recipient of RAMW’s 2017 Duke Zeibert award. Have you heard of Dot’s Spot? You will. J.P. Sabatier & Drew Porterfield came in with delicious treats from the new Southern breakfast pop-up is coming the first weekend in June. We then had Matt Levere tell us about this years “Lamb Jam”, including a fun giveaway for lamb from Urban Butcher. Lastly, Walker Brown, Co-Founder of Cape Venture Wine Co, talked about Lubanzi Wines, and the amazing objectives the label seeks to accomplish. Fifty percent of their profits will go towards The Pebbles Project, an NGO that works with low-income families who live and work on South Africa’s wine farms.
