The Broadway sensation Hamilton has just debuted at The Kennedy Center. Coincidently, this Tony-winning hip-hop musical has already sparked some inevitable interest in the DC Dining world. Check out some of The District’s Hamilton inspired fare below.
Name Game- Rightfully so, the Hamilton Hotel will be hosting a musical-long ticket raffle giveaway and celebration of all things Hamilton-themed. Visitors will have to purchase a My Shot (specialty cocktail, $10) to enter the Hamilton ticket raffle. Hamilton’s Feast- Just blocks away from The Kennedy Center, Marcel’s has already paid homage to Hamilton by plating a specially-crafted rendition of the institution’s signature three-course pre-theatre menu ($68). For the first course, guests can enjoy the Pan Seared Scallops (Aged Sherry, Shallot Sauce, Fondue of Spinach)- a nod to Alexander Hamilton’s water surrounded birthplace in the Leeward Islands. The entrée selections include Salmon (Fennel, Sweet Tomato, and Balsamic essence) and Beef Short Ribs (thyme red wine sauce and garlic potato purée). Finally, the plated dessert is the Marjolaine of Hazelnut Dacquoise (Chocolate cremeux and White coffee gelato). The Feud- The Jefferson Hotel has rightfully represented the infamous feud of Thomas Jefferson.v. Alexander Hamilton. The hotel has recently launched an immersive Jefferson v. Hamilton culinary and itinerary experience. Hamilton Libations- The infamous Watergate Hotel will be offering some Hamilton-themed libations at their restaurant, Kingbird. Guests can enjoy cocktails that range from the Hamilton (Classic bourbon, amaro averna, and bitters, $14) to the Lafayette (Brandy, bourbon, balsamic lavender and bitters, $14).
