Tastemakers, a food incubator and soon to be food hall ,is located in Brookland. The space now hosts production for 15 local food companies, including Bullfrog Bagels, Shrub District, and Republic Kolache. It's now also a food hall open to the public and be home to vendors selling everything from cheesesteaks to falafel to diners, plus a bar. Captain Cookie is selling it's famous cookies and ice cream sandwiches, DC SteakHolders is selling cheesesteaks, DC Ballers is supplying falafel and fries, and Ball or Nothing may or may not decide to offer its signature meatballs sometime in the future. Potential options for the final space include a taco bar from the DC Empanadas and Taco Del Barrio team or a bagel spot from Bullfrog Bagels. Besides these vendors, there will be a variety of pop-up stands over the next few months. Of course the space will have a bar called Benjamin’s on Franklin. The bar will be serving up Anxo cider, French wine, as well as local beers. Logan Bond, an alum of Copycat Co.and Denson Liquor Bar, is overseeing the cocktails. The space will also eventually have a grab-and-go grocery section featuring products from Tastemaker members and other local purveyors, as well as draft nitro brews from Alchemist Coffee.
