The owners of Taqueria Habanero have recently announced their latest venture: Tequila y Mezcal. Rather than focusing solely on tacos, this new concept will incorporate authentic dishes from various parts of Mexico; specifically, Oaxaca, Mexico City, and Yucután Peninsula. This 40-seat restaurant will be serving plates ranging from octopus tacos to their molcajete, a stone bowl that is heated over fire and filled with grilled meat, vegetables, salsa. Israel Montero, head bartender, has crafted 12 different specialty cocktails for the upcoming concept with a heavy emphasis on mezcal, aguardiente, bourbon, and rum that is sourced from Veracruz.
