James Beard award winning chef, John Currence, who founded City Grocer in Oxford, Mississippi, has been named as chef de cuisine and operator at the Mill at 10 Duke. Currence will be overseeing this 6,400 square-foot casual restaurant and market that was once a mess house feeding Union troops during the Civil War. Look forward to a casual tavern on the ground floor and an open kitchen and a more intimate dining room on the second floor. The market section will consist of grab and go items and coffee, beer, and wine. Discussions are still taking place for what food will be served, but Currence, who is a native of New Orleans, says his food is often influenced by French Creole and Cajun styles.
