The Washington Harbour Ice Rink — Annually, mid-November until March, The Washington Harbour Ice Rink transforms from its interchangeable use as a picturesque fountain and is open for recreational skating every day, including all holidays.

HOLIDAY MARKETS & GARDENS

DowntownDC’s Holiday Market  — This year they are bringing all their seasonal cheer back to F street between 7th and 9th for its 15th year. The outdoor village will be opening earlier than ever this year, a full week before Black Friday, for you to get a jump on holiday shopping. The market offers more than just shopping with daily performances from local talent. The market will operate daily, regardless of rain or snow, from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
Holiday Garden   All-Purpose Pizza at Capitol Riverfront has introduced a Holiday Winter Garden; The garden will feature fire tables, festive decor, and hot drinks available with or without alcohol including Hot Mulled Cider made with Pennsylvania cider, El Dorado Rum, Punch Fantasia, and mulling spices, Hot Chocolate, and the Tuscan Coffee made with Swings Coffee, Jameson, Galliano Ristretto, raw sugar, and cream. On December 15, the riverside pizzeria will host Brunch and Photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus with donations going to support the St Baldrick’s Foundation, an organization that funds childhood cancer research.

the brig —  Starting December 10 the brig will offer winter activities to keep you warm and toasty in December and January with events including cookie decorating, holiday films, warm winter cocktails by the fire pits and an ugly sweater contest. And of course, you can enjoy warm cocktails and German beers by the fire pits.

GLOW— The holiday celebration in Georgetown featuring outdoor public light art installations that invite you to “re-imagine the season of light” has returned for its sixth edition, with works lit from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. nightly from Friday, December 6, 2019 – Sunday, January 5, 2020. The works will be located throughout the Georgetown commercial district.

Mount Vernon —Christmas past meets Christmas present at George Washington’s estate: from November 29 through December 31, you can tour the Mansion, watch 18th-century demonstrations, and hear stories of Christmases past from costumed characters. Plus plenty of events to enjoy such as demonstrations, dinner and more.

THE GREAT SEARCH — Enchant Christmas announced that tickets to its Washington, DC debut are now on sale. For the first time ever, Nationals Park will transform into the World’s Largest Christmas Light Maze and Market featuring larger-than-life light sculptures that take guests on a journey to find Santa’s missing reindeer. On your adventure, glide along the light-adorned ice skating trail, mosey through a Christmas Market of more than 60 local artisan vendors, listen as carolers sing your favorite holiday tunes, and more. From single ticket general admission, enhanced VIP experiences, and value evenings like Merry Hour, to unique group packages, season passes, and holiday party suite bookings, they’re truly is something for everyone. Holiday Saturdays — National Harbor’s holiday celebration takes place throughout the Wharf with events and activities all season long. Starting November 16 through January 5, ignite the holiday spirit with the lighting of a 56-foot tree and two million twinkling lights in the National Harbor Waterfront District. The tree light show will take place daily every half hour from sundown to 9 p.m.  On weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday,) it will snow on the tree during the light show. Fireworks will light up the sky every Saturday night at 5:30 p.m. from November 16 to December 21. Other activities include the opportunity to meet Santa at the Capital Wheel and the Carousel and holiday movies at 3:30 p.m. each Saturday on the Plaza Screen.

Holiday Boat ParadeThe Wharf The District’s Holiday Boat Parade, is a night of boating on the Potomac River, from Hains Point to the docks and piers of The Wharf. This is the 28th​ year of this annual waterfront holiday tradition. Free public activities will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., including the lighting of The Wharf’s 40-foot tall Christmas tree; photographs with Santa Claus and the live musical performances on District Pier. The boat parade will kick off at 7 p.m. and highlighted by a stunning holiday fireworks parade finale at 8 p.m. The festive holiday boat parade will include up to 60 beautifully decorated boats. Attendees will also get into the holiday spirit with a guaranteed magical snowfall, painting signature holiday ornaments, balloon art and enjoying s’mores at The Wharf’s roaring fire pit. Other fun activities include skating on the Wharf Ice Rink and sampling seasonal refreshments from our Waterfront Beer and Wine Garden. Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The event is rain or shine.

Light Yards The Yards, DC has brought back Light Yards for its fifth year at The Yards Park! This year, the annual nighttime festival will feature the installation Airship Orchestra. Beamed from the night stars; skin streaked with galaxy, they bring their healing vibrations to Washington DC. Head inside the formation to bathe in volumetric sound and rhythmic light pulsation. The Airship Orchestra by ENESS has touched down at Light Yards DC. In a world-first, beamed from the night stars; skin streaked with galaxy, they bring their healing vibrations to Washington DC. Head inside the formation 6-10 pm nightly from December 6th through23rd to bathe in volumetric sound and rhythmic light pulsation.

Holiday Food & Drink

Sippin’ Santa’s Surf Shack at Archipelago — They are bringing the island vibes and holiday cheer to D.C. for a month-long event, during their second installment of the surf shack.
Come out and try new holiday-inspired cocktails, scoop up some awesome mugs from our friends at the Cocktail Kingdom, and see as we transform Archipelago into a winter wonderland!

Après Ski Experience  —  Conrad Washington, DC will bring a taste of the French and Italian Alps to CityCenterDC. Launching this Friday, November 22nd in collaboration with Moncler, Conrad’s third-floor terrace will transform into a luxurious Après Ski experience complete with mountain lodge décor and European-inspired specialty cocktails and shareable dishes. You are invited to snuggle up next to the outdoor fire pits with provided blankets and enjoy thermoses for two of Hot Buttered Rum and ‘Haute’ Toddies. The menu also includes wines by the glass, beers, cocktails and an extensive Fromage et Charcuterie Board featuring Tomme de Savoie and Saucisson d’Alsace salami served with house-made persimmon mostarda and accompaniments, Croque Madame au Confit de Canard prepared with duck confit, duck prosciutto and gruyere, and fireside S’mores with chocolate ganache and chocolate rocks.

Miracle on 7th Street — Drink Company has brought back Miracle on 7th Street, a holiday pop-up experience that celebrates the festive season. At the fifth annual Miracle on 7th Street, they will have their over-the-top decorations that have made in D.C,  but this year they are also proud to celebrate our hometown heroes and world champs, the Washington Nationals.

Little Stable — Stabe has joined WINTERFEST, a 13,000 square foot immersive holiday wonderland transforming Wunder Garten from December 6-December 22.  WINTERFEST will feature several decked out holiday tents and activations engaging guests’ senses at each experience with Little Stable, their winter fondue pop-up restaurant taking residence in NoMa Thursday-Saturday during the holiday festival’s December run. They also will feature a Christmas Tree Lot (“The Giving Tree Lot”) that will benefit Pathways to Housing DC.
