Race The District Returns to Union Market District with Go-Kart Race Track and Live Performance by Louis The Child

Union Market District, in partnership with Events DC, brings back Race the District from October 9–12, 2025, transforming the Market’s parking lot into a high-energy outdoor racetrack and festival experience.

After a successful debut in 2024, this year’s edition expands with racing, live performances, food, and family-friendly activities. Drivers of all skill levels (minimum height 58”) can take on 15-minute go-kart races daily from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Beyond the track, the weekend includes a festival atmosphere with entertainment, local food, and music.

A major highlight of the weekend will be a live block party performance by electronic duo Louis The Child on Saturday, October 11, presented by Nü Androids. On Sunday, October 12, Songbyrd will mark its 10th anniversary with a free block party on 5th Street featuring live performances and community celebrations.

New this year, F1 Arcade will join the event, offering signature food, cocktails by D.C.’s own LP O’Brien, and open sim racing experiences for karting ticket holders.

Go-karting tickets and block party reservations will be available by mid-September.
