enlightening history lesson on civility—in this series of exclusive teas co-presented by George Washington's Mount Vernon and The Jefferson, Washington, DC. Each tea features a host or hostess from Mount Vernon who shares stories and advice from the past for elegant entertaining today. On select dates, The Jefferson's in-house historian, Susan Sullivan Lagon, PhD. will also be on-site to add her own expertise. As you feast on history, you'll also savor on a sumptuous tea spread in the Jefferson's stunning Gallatin room, beginning with champagne (or sparkling cider), followed by an assortment of tea sandwiches, house-made pastries by the hotel’s Michelin starred team with selections of Dammann Teas. On March 22nd, the tea will feature a conversation with Lady Martha Washington and Tobias Lear, George Washington’s personal secretary, along with Susan Sullivan Lagon, PhD. On April 5th, the tea will feature Lady Washington and Dr. Lagon.
