enlightening history lesson on civility—in this series of exclusive teas co-presented by George Washington's Mount Vernon and The Jefferson, Washington, DC. Each tea features a host or hostess from Mount Vernon who shares stories and advice from the past for elegant entertaining today. On select dates, The Jefferson's in-house historian, Susan Sullivan Lagon, PhD. will also be on-site to add her own expertise. As you feast on history, you'll also savor on a sumptuous tea spread in the Jefferson's stunning Gallatin room, beginning with champagne (or sparkling cider), followed by an assortment of tea sandwiches, house-made pastries by the hotel’s Michelin starred team with selections of Dammann Teas. On March 22nd, the tea will feature a conversation with Lady Martha Washington and Tobias Lear, George Washington’s personal secretary, along with Susan Sullivan Lagon, PhD. On April 5th, the tea will feature Lady Washington and Dr. Lagon. On April 26th, the tea will feature Lady Washington and Tobias Lear. $85 per person. 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on March 22nd, April 5th, and April 26th.
