Anela Malik Celebrates the Release of American Soul at Anju

Anela Malik, author and storyteller, will host an immersive evening celebrating her debut book American Soul on Tuesday, September 9, at Anju in Washington, D.C. The one-night-only event will honor the roots and spirit of American cuisine through a Korean-Southern fusion dinner, curated cocktails by award-winning bartender Kapri Robinson, and a lively, celebratory atmosphere. Guests will enjoy a family-style meal, a welcome cocktail, a meet-and-greet, remarks from Malik, and late-night karaoke. The evening also highlights the Black contributions to food culture and the local chefs, bartenders, and creatives who shape DC’s dynamic hospitality scene. Tickets are available for $80 for dinner only or $110 for dinner with a signed copy of American Soul, released to the public via Resy on August 18.
