Legends & Legacy: A Celebration of Women in Sports

On Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 12:00–8:00 p.m., The Wharf will host Legends & Legacy, a free, family-friendly waterfront celebration honoring the past, present, and future of women in sports.

Presented by CitySwing, Events DC, TOGETHXR, and LPGA*USGA Girls Golf, the day features inspiring conversations, live entertainment, and hands-on activities, including:

Speaker Series: Bold discussions with leading female athletes and sports industry leaders, hosted by award-winning journalist Jemele Hill

Golf Activities: CitySwing truck golf simulator and mini golf practice sessions

Live Music: Performances on the Transit Pier floating stage

In addition, Tennis of Tomorrow will bring interactive tennis programming:

Outdoor Screening: Live broadcast of the US Open Women’s Final on the Transit Pier jumbo screen, presented by Heineken

Meet & Greets: Local sports organizations, including the Washington Spirit, Washington Mystics, Howard University Women’s Tennis Team, Black Girls Tennis Club, Washington Tennis & Education Foundation, and Girls Rule the Court

Serve for Swag: Test your serve speed and win prizes courtesy of Giant Food

The event is free and open to all ages, with alcohol available for guests 21+.
