Get ready to embrace your main character moment at The Yards’ Sunday Summer Reads Series—a dreamy celebration of literature, creativity, and community. Every Sunday evening in July, book lovers are invited to gather in a sunlit, literary-inspired space filled with hands-on activities like bookmark making, journal decorating, and guided journaling prompts. Each week, The Yards will give away 150 of the summer’s most buzzworthy reads, curated from top-tier recommendations by Vogue, Oprah, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, The New Yorker, and Publishers Weekly. Guests can bring pre-loved books to contribute to The Yards’ growing community library and browse selections from the Turning the Page used book sale. As an added bonus, Silver Mirror will be offering complimentary mini facials to help guests unwind between chapters. Pair all of this with happy hour and dinner at The Yards’ restaurants, and it becomes the perfect plot for a relaxing, book-filled summer evening. The final chapter will spotlight local DC BookTok creators, who will handpick fan-favorite reads to close out the series. Complimentary book tickets are limited to one per person and must be reserved in advance, with check-in required by 6:30 PM. A standby line will be available for any remaining books.
