Todd Thrasher, the masterful mind behind Tiki TNT, Washington, DC, honors “Trader Vic” and his introduction of Polynesian and island culture to America with a signature drink timed to his December 10th birthday. The Mai Tai at Tiki TNT features Thrasher's White Rum, El Dorado 12, Dry Curacao, Orgeat, Lime, and Rich Demerara. Thrasher found inspiration for his playful riff on the cocktail while hopping from island to island around the world as a scuba dive instructor. Tiki TNT, DC’s only true Polynesian imbibery, has a special connection to Trader Vic as his birthday coincides with the 1 year anniversary of the restaurant and bar, which has grown to become the DC Wharf’s most impressive address. In celebration, Thrasher will be slinging special $1 Mai Tais, available 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. as an homage to the tiki legend!
