FOODIE & THE BEAST
Foodie & The Beast kicks the celebration WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH with a studio of incredible women that are each powerhouses in the food & hospitality community. Stories were shared, advice was given and everyone is ready to kick ass and take names.
-
All of today’s guests are deeply involved with REGARDING HER, the national nonprofit specifically dedicated to accelerating the growth of women entrepreneurs and leaders in food and beverage. Regarding Her DC has taken over the month of March with events, dinners, collabs and classes.

-Mary Sue Milliken, yes, the James Beard and Julia Child Award-winning chef, cookbook author, food system activist, and co-owner of Mundo Hospitality Group is also one of the driving forces behind the formation of Regarding Her.

-Can’t have a celebration without the bubbles. Of course, Diane Gross, cofounder of CORK WINE BAR & MARKET brought the sparkling & other tastes to pair with cheesemonger Alice Bergen selection of cheeses. We are all CheeseMonsters now.

-Vivien Bang, Owner of Lei Musubi came with her griddle and cooked us all up her favorite childhood snack, musubi. Now we all have a craving for these stuffed rice balls that are dusted with furikake (and, no that is not a porn reference, it’s a Japanese spice mix).

-Jamie Leeds, an OG and good friend of ours, you know her as the founder and operator of world-famous Hank’s Oyster Bar. Jamie is one of the leaders of Regarding Her DC and discusses the importance of working with other women entrepreneurs in the industry.

-Patrice Cleary, the chef and owner of Purple Patch Restaurant and soon to open Joia Burger shared her story and delish dishes of her Filipino-American inspired menu.

-Tiffany MacIssac, hobbled in - ski accident- and wrapped up the show with all the Regarding Her DC activations -  events, dinners, collabs and classes - throughout the month of March. Link here
