2021 DC Beer Week: Solidarity

The DC Brewers’ Guild’s annual celebration of local beer, DC Beer Week, is back with dozens of events throughout the DC metropolitan area. The 2021 celebration returns mostly in person, with a few virtual events. The week will feature a wide variety of activities, from discussion with beer writer Jamaal Lemon and a panel of beer historians to a block party in front of the Howard Theatre hosted by Right Proper featuring the Black Beer Garden, as well as live music and a new collaboration beer with An Invisible Art CollectiveThe Guild, the professional association of DC-area breweries, dubbed this year’s Beer Week one of solidarity, to celebrate coming together and giving everyone (breweries, bars, restaurants, and local beer-lovers) something to feel happy about, creating good vibes and celebrating making it through the pandemic together. As small local businesses, the guild’s members, along with much of the hospitality industry, faced immense challenges, which are still ongoing. DC Beer Week is an opportunity to support the local economy and craft beer community. September 19th through September 26th. A schedule of events and more information can be found here.
