When:
November 15,2019 – November 15,2019 all-day
Where:
American History Museum
14th St. & Constitution Ave NW

Cooking Up History showcases a guest chef and the National Museum of American History's resident food historian, Dr. Ashley Rose Young, preparing a recipe and talking about the history and traditions behind its ingredients, culinary techniques, and enjoyment. In 2019 they're focusing each month’s demonstration on a section of the museum’s exhibition FOOD: Transforming the American Table. The National Museum of American History are teaming up with the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage to host the authors of Lavash: The bread that launched 1,000 meals, plus salads, stews, and other recipes from Armenia, a cookbook that brings to life the rich food heritage of Armenia. The authors will be joined by a special guest host as they demonstrate how to make this staple bread and share stories from their fieldwork illuminating Armenian culture. The event is free and is from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
