Tail Up Goat invites you to the dining room for a special six-course collaboration dinner with Steven Satterfield of Miller Union, featuring cocktails from Jewel of the South.

The team at Tail Up Goat first met Steven in 2017 during Sips & Suppers and continued cooking alongside him at the event in subsequent years. They're thrilled to welcome him back to DC. Steven won the James Beard Award for Best Chef: Southeast in 2017 and is the author of two cookbooks.

Steven and Tail Up Goat's own Jon will be celebrating “Sprummer,” highlighting the transition between spring and summer produce—summer ingredients from Atlanta and spring selections from DC. Jewel of the South cocktails will be featured for those dining in.

Dinner will consist of six family-style courses, with all dishes served to share. Each dish can be modified to be vegetarian or nut-free. If such modifications are needed, the entire table will receive the adjusted version. Unfortunately, no other dietary restrictions can be accommodated. For example, the restaurant cannot host individuals avoiding gluten, dairy, eggs, nightshades, alliums, capsaicin, citrus, shellfish, or fin fish. Please note that bookings are non-refundable, and the menu cannot be altered beyond vegetarian and nut-free accommodations.

The dinner is priced at $125 per person, excluding beverages, a 20% service fee, and sales tax. All tickets are non-refundable. Cancellations made by June 15 will receive a gift card for the purchase amount. Cancellations after June 15, as well as no-shows, will not be issued a gift card.

Jewel of the South returns to Tail Up Goat! Owned by friends Victoria Espinel and John Stubbs, the Jewel team was last hosted in 2018, just before their bar's opening. Chris Hannah and Shaun Williams will be joining for the evening. Chris, a cofounder and partner, directs Jewel’s acclaimed cocktail program. Jewel of the South won the 2024 James Beard Award for Outstanding Bar and was recently named the #4 best bar in North America by World’s 50 Best, retaining its title for a third consecutive year as Best Bar in the South USA.

For those not attending dinner, the bar and patio at Tail Up Goat will be open for drinks by Jewel of the South on a first-come, first-served basis. If there's a wait, staff will take names and text guests when space becomes available.
