NMWA Unframed: Aluminate the Night
1250 New York Avenue, NW
On Friday, March 6, 2026, the National Museum of Women in the Arts will kick off Women’s History Month with NMWA Unframed: Aluminate the Night, a late-night, aluminum-themed celebration running from 8:30 p.m. to just before midnight. Marking the 10th anniversary of the museum’s acclaimed #5WomenArtists campaign, the event transforms the galleries into a shimmering playground of live music, performance, and interactive art. Highlights include collaborations with haus of bambi; performances by poet Alexa Patrick, Les the DJ, and Miss Grace David; and a headline appearance by Bessie Award–nominee and Revry TV’s King of Drag winner, King Molasses. Guests can expect pop-up performances, dancing, a live mural, costume contest, and immersive art activations, with an exclusive VIP experience beginning earlier in the evening. Inspired by the traditional 10th-anniversary gift, attendees are encouraged to embrace metallic, chrome, and glitter-forward looks for a night celebrating creativity, advocacy, and gender equity in the arts.
