The Lady Bird of Saint John, a production by A La Pluma Theater, runs from April 6–12, 2026. Directed by Víctor Salinas and starring Cristina Sánchez and Ixchel, this intimate performance tells the story of two sisters reunited after years apart, each having taken very different paths to the United States.

Set over the course of one evening in a Chicago apartment, the play explores themes of immigration, identity, and family as long-held tensions and hidden truths come to light. Through deeply personal storytelling, the production reflects on the emotional complexities of separation, sacrifice, and the pursuit of a better life.
