It’s All About Her

The month of March marks Women’s History Month – a moment when we collectively commemorate the vital role of women in history and reflect on the important work that remains as we strive to create a future of greater equality and opportunity. Regarding Her [RE:Her] DC is amplifying the voices of women-identifying food and drink entrepreneurs across the Washington, DC region with exciting culinary collaborations and a celebratory dinner as a part of the 14 Days RE:Her DC Festival, March 14-27, 2022.

The festivities kick-off event, Women at the Wharf, is on March 14. This evening will feature a multi-course, multi-chef dinner featuring cocktails, beer, passed appetizers, and a three-course family-style seated dinner. This showcase of RE:Her DC members includes the talents of: Rochelle Cooper and Hollis Wells Silverman of The Duck & The Peach, La Collina, The WellsAJ Johnson and Daniella Senior of SerenataJeanine Prime of CaneSara Quinteros of  Shilling Canning Company, as well as many more. 

The 14 Days RE:Her DC Festival brings members together through collaborations of many of these creative female chefs at their respective establishments – melding culinary styles and specialties. Offerings like: 
  • Ice Cream Jubilee is serving up Boozy Broads’ Boozy Floats, ice cream floats with a tipsy twist, will be available from March 17th to March 20th at all Pizzeria Paradiso locations. Taking woman-owned and operated Anxo Cider and DC Brau are teaming up with Ice Cream Jubilee to serve “adult” ice cream floats. Priced at $13 a float, options include The Fitz, Anxo’s Nevertheless Cider with Passionfruit Guava Sorbet and The Irish, DC Brau’s Incurable Sadness Irish Stout with bold vanilla ice cream. 
  • DC’s cocktail queen, Gina Chersevani, is celebrating with the launch of a new Cocktail Hour - themed in tribute to the leading ladies of the cocktail world. This marks the reintroduction of an evening drink service at Buffalo & Bergen for the first time since the onset of the pandemic. The debut of Cocktail Hour welcomes a recurring Trilogy Tasting Tray series - featuring three custom cocktails presented on a stylish tray. Rotating monthly, each cocktail is distinct in flavor, but unified by the highly creative theme introduced at the start of each month.
  • Diane Gross says Let’z Jam at Cork Market. Kenisha Potts’ Pineapple Sage Jam will be featured on Cork Wine Bar’s artisanal cheese plates. Bring the goodness home with you: Cork will offer Kenisha’s jams for retail sale at the Market on 14th Street NW and at Spring Valley!
